Wedding ring emergency... I was horrified to discover that my wedding ring, which we had bought four years ago, no longer fit. We had to postpone our wedding back then due to Covid. Since I had quit smoking in the meantime, my ring no longer fit because I had gained some weight. Resizing it wasn't possible because it was made of carbon. The Bollmann goldsmiths were incredibly helpful; we received beautiful wedding rings that were ready for pickup the very next day. The wedding was supposed to take place in just three days. The goldsmith's shop is completely unassuming from the outside, but it's all the more loving and beautiful inside. Bernd and Urszel are both incredibly kind and patient, and above all, they took their time just for the two of us. So, the ring forging was exactly the wonderful experience we hoped it would be – thank you! You don't usually need more than one ring; however, we wholeheartedly recommend the shop!

On May 10, 2025, the long-awaited course to forge our own wedding rings finally took place. We were really looking forward to it, but our expectations were far exceeded. It was such a wonderful day, during which we learned a lot and met some amazing people. We received a super warm welcome and gained fascinating insights into the goldsmith's craft. Ursel and Bernd Bollmann made this day unforgettable for us. We were able to get to know each other over coffee before we got started. The atmosphere was very warm and pleasant throughout, and we could ask anything, with every little detail being answered patiently. At lunchtime, there was even a delicious soup. We felt very welcome overall, and above all, we are so, so, so happy with our wedding rings! They turned out so beautifully, and the idea that we made them for each other gives us a wonderful feeling. After a major disappointment with another goldsmith, we drove 405 km to Goslar to visit Urszel and Bernd. They welcomed us very warmly. Since we arrived around noon, they first treated us to a delicious homemade soup. And a very tasty fig cream :-). Afterward, we began working and received a brief introduction to gold. Bernd told us, among other things, about different types of gold, what the numbers mean, and what the different designations are. We discussed with him how our rings should look, and we wanted to keep it simple. He then cut a piece of a blank from the refinery and cut it in two for our wedding rings, creating two rings from one piece. Then the blanks were rolled, sawed, and ground. Slowly, the blanks began to form rings. Meanwhile, Bernd explained the individual processing steps to us. Then it was time for coffee and cake, which we enjoyed together. We continued with the work, and the time flew by. Then came the highlight: we chose the brilliant-cut diamond for the women's ring. It was an ice-blue diamond. We were particularly fascinated by the diamond's setting; we watched Bernd closely as he worked. We critically examined the finished ring and thought the work was simply magnificent. A lot of love went into Bernd's hands! We've been wearing the rings happily and very content since June 9, 2017. Oh, and a recommendation: take a notepad with you and write down everything Bernd and Urszel explain. Unfortunately, you tend to forget a lot of terms over time. There was so much interesting and valuable information to hear!

Marriage is something truly special in the lives of two people, and wedding rings are an essential part of it. So why not forge them yourself? Impossible? Not at all! At the Bollmann goldsmith workshop, you can follow and experience the entire journey of your rings. From raw material to finished ring. All the individual steps are explained and demonstrated beforehand, until you finally get to work yourself. In the end, you have two wedding rings that couldn't be more unique. Personally handcrafted. We highly recommend this workshop. You receive excellent, comprehensive support throughout the day and all the time you need. We received a very warm welcome and felt completely at ease. Absolutely recommended. Thank you for this wonderful memory.

Wedding Ring Making Workshop on March 11, 2017 It all began quite relaxed with a delicious, leisurely breakfast; the workshop was truly "all-inclusive." Ursula and Bernd made us feel right at home and eased our nervousness and excitement about the upcoming intricate handwork with unfamiliar tools and high-quality materials. Everything was relaxed and easygoing, allowing us to find the calm we needed for millimeter- and gram-precise craftsmanship. But before we could get started, there was some mental math! Since we were focused on and prepared for the hands-on work, we failed miserably at calculating the gram amounts of gold, silver, copper, and so on—or whatever else might be in such a ring. But Bernd helped us right from the start with his calm, balanced, and humorous approach. Then we got started! But then we were off! Bernd explains every step of the process in detail, answering all our questions with his seemingly endless expertise (he's a trained dental technician and goldsmith!), and can even cast 3D sculptures using his machinery. Listing each step would take too long, but after each one, the results are documented with photos. While we're rolling, filing, hammering, grinding, and so on, working on our "test rings," Bernd is simultaneously crafting the "real" rings. Working in the small workshop or at the workbenches at the front really puts us in a "flow" state; we're so engrossed in our work that we don't even notice it's time for lunch, which Ursula has already prepared in the kitchen: a fantastic selection of cold cuts and cheeses, delicious and perfect for hard-working people like us. ... The afternoon flew by. We were completely absorbed in the quiet of the workshop, focused on our work, one hand on the tool and the other on the ring, careful not to make any mistakes that would result in a ruin. A very heartfelt thank you to the Bollmann Goldsmiths 💛 My wife had lost one of her favorite earrings – a piece with special meaning. What emerged was pure craftsmanship: The earring was recreated so faithfully to the original that even we couldn't tell the difference. Based on this idea, we also had a matching pendant made for her necklace – equally beautiful and full of attention to detail. Never again a stainless steel ring! I broke a metacarpal bone in an accident, and my fingers swelled so quickly that I couldn't get my ring off. Even the hospital couldn't help me. Thank goodness I got help at the Bollmann goldsmith shop. Although the ring cutter didn't work, they didn't give up, and in the end, the ring was off my finger, and I'm incredibly grateful! They also explained to me that stainless steel is a bad material for rings because it's difficult to remove them in such cases, or you need a special blade for the ring cutter. All's well that ends well! The ring is going in the trash and will remain a painful memory!!
